Do You Have BV? (Bacterial Vaginosis)

There are numerous women in the world today that have BV, but may not know it, because they may not know what to look for, and some women do not even experience symptoms. The most common symptoms include: a bad odor, vaginal discharge, itchiness, and a high Ph level.

Bad Odor: For the several women that have BV, the most common symptom is the odor- people often refer to it as a fishy odor. This symptom can range from very mild, hardly noticeable, to severe enough that other people can smell it even if you have clothes on. This symptom is also one of the main reasons women with BV will go into the Doctor.

Vaginal Discharge: Vaginal Discharge is a common symptom for BV as well as for a yeast infection. The difference is the discharge for a yeast infection is typically white, thick and mucous-like. The discharge for BV typically ranges from a milky white to a grayish tone, and is thin and liquid-like. There may also be a mild burning sensation associated along with it.

High Ph Level: Unfortunately, the most definite symptom of women with BV is one that you cannot tell by feel or smell. There are two ways to test the Ph level—either by going to the doctor or buying one of the at home Ph kits that you can test your own Ph level. Anything above 4.2 is above normal, and therefore, a level that BV can grow.

If you have any of these symptoms, you will want to go to the doctor to make sure you have BV and not something more serious, and then you can get treatment from there. There are several antibiotics out there that will temporarily relieve it, but you will have a chance of having a relapse over and over again, there are natural treatments that will take care of the symptoms for good, so you will never have to worry about it again.

What Are The Causes Of BV

There are many women today that suffer from BV. A large percentage of them have tried the antibiotics, which worked temporarily, but did not cure it. Great for the pharmaceutical manufacturer, they get more money, but bad for us—we spend the money on the antibiotics, and get relief from BV for a short while, then we get another bout of it, and we dish out more money for the cycle to start all over again. Why is this—the antibiotics kill the bacteria which temporarily ends the bad smell, itchiness, discharge and other symptoms of it, but it fails to treat the causes of BV.

So what can we do about this cycle that keeps on going—how do we end BV for good? The natural remedies are designed to treat the symptoms of it, and also treat the causes of BV. There are many causes of BV that we may not have even thought about or heard about for that matter, after all, when we get a bout of it, we just want to get rid of it.

BV is caused by when the bad bacteria outnumbers the good bacteria, usually by some alteration in your levels. Typically the good bacterial outnumbers the bad bacterial by far, but when levels are altered, the bad bacteria can outnumber the good bacteria and overgrow—which causes the symptoms of BV—the itchiness, slimy discharge and the odor. Although there are numerous ways that the alterations of good bacterial vs. bad bacterial can happen, the most common ways include: using a douche, wearing an IUD, having multiple partners, wearing a thong, using vaginal sprays, hormonal changes during pregnancy or menopause, being iron deficient, and taking antibiotics—not just for BV, but antibiotics not only kill the bad bacteria, but also the good bacteria, and many other ones, that are not as common.

The natural remedies will tell you what and how to successfully treat the smell, odor and discharge because of the BV for good—no more wasting money on antibiotics that won’t take care of it forever.
