Did my ex give me bacterial vaginosis?

I saw my ex on Tuesday and we had sex. By Monday my vagina was itching like crazy and I went to the gyno today and he said I have Bacterial Vaginosis.

My question is- did my ex give me this? Is it an STD? He told me he wasn’t having sex with anyone else (we broke up 4 weeks ago) but now I’m thinking he did and gave me BV from another girl.

Is this possible? I really need to know….
