Why are my labia bleeding? I’m scared. I have bacterial vaginosis and am on a script for it. It’s causing?
slight burning but would this cause bleeding too?
After going to the bathroom I noticed very small bits of bright red blood on the toilet tissue. It’s happened a few times. I’ve recently started a sexual relationship that can get, um, intense but the blood sometimes appears days after sex. So that doesn’t seem to be the cause.
What could cause bleeding labia? I also noticed a small amount of blood from my vagina itself but my period was a week ago.

My
name is Lesli Paterson, right now I live in Oregon, I have 2 kids a 4
year old boy and a 2 year old.
Yes, it’s possible that it could be causing the labia to bleed. I had something like this happen to me several years ago when it came to bacterial vaginosis and at the same time I also hurt so bad I had to ask my doctor to numben the area before she could finish taking the culture.
It’s also possible that this could be a side effect of the medication (an example only).
I would recommend getting back in touch with your doctor to see what they say.
One of the symptoms of bacterial vaginosis is light bleeding due to the irritation of the cervix and vaginal canal. I assume that you are taking oral Metronidazole or Flagyl – make sure that you take all of this medication and make sure your partner is also taking this medication – if they are not and you resume your sexual relationship – you might get this infection back from them. Bleeding after sex is called Post Coital bleeding and might be a serious problem. Make sure your MD is aware of this of this bleeding and that you are sexually active so he may diagnose you better. go to the web site…www.mayoclinic.com then type in post coital bleeding and also bacterial vaginosis for symptoms, cause and treatment. Take charge of your personal health and be informed. Good luck.
